What patients say about Dr. Nissy
Read all 77 reviews on Google“Dr. Nissy found that the root canal he done somewhere else before was done wrongly, which led to chronic infection… She didn't do surgery immediately, she said first we should cure infection fully otherwise patient will have pain after surgery. She is very responsible and sincere.”
“Thank you, Dr. Nissy! I was very nervous before the extraction, but you made me feel relaxed and comfortable. The procedure was smoother than I expected. Really appreciate your care and patience!”
“Before starting the procedure, Dr. Nissy carefully checked to ensure there was no infection that could cause complications or pain during the surgery… both the doctor and the staff followed up on my condition after the surgery, making sure I was recovering well.”
Dr. Nissy Susan Thomas is a DHA-licensed Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and implantologist with 10 years of experience, 5 of them in the UAE. She holds a master's degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and has published research on surgical techniques in international journals.
"Dentistry just happened, but becoming an oral surgeon and implantologist was a choice. I love the surgical side: the planning, the precision and the hands-on work. Implantology came from wanting not just to treat a problem, but to restore what was lost."
How Dr. Nissy works with you
I listen first. I want my patients to feel heard, comfortable and never rushed, and care doesn't stop after the procedure: I follow up to see how you are doing. Come with your concerns, leave with a clear plan, and hopefully a little less dental anxiety.
Outside the clinic: Usually chasing her toddler, planning her next trip, or looking for a good coffee and a good meal.

Myth: Seeing an oral surgeon means my case is very serious.
Fact: Oral surgeons also handle many routine procedures, from extractions to implants.
“Don't Google your toothache at 2 a.m. or watch videos of the procedure. Come and see me instead!”
Questions patients ask Dr. Nissy
Procedures are done under local anaesthesia, so you should feel pressure rather than pain. Any soreness afterwards is usually mild and managed with simple painkillers, and I explain every step before we start.
After a simple extraction most people can. After wisdom tooth surgery or an implant, plan for a day or two of rest. I'll tell you what to expect for your own case.
The gum usually settles within one to two weeks. With an implant, the bone needs a few months to bond with it before the final tooth is fitted. You'll get clear aftercare instructions and a follow-up.
